We are moms who love being moms. And we are moms who love being more. Our chapter is comprised
of educated, dedicated women who have made the choice to leave, scale back, and/or mold careers to give mothering the top
priority it deserves.
Our
chapter provides support, companionship and lots of mother/child activities for every member in her role as a mother. But
our group is unique in its dedication to providing the time and space away from the kids-house-husband-job-and-family-dog
for a woman to attend to her needs and interests that exist beyond her identity as a mom. Mothers & More focuses on the
woman in the mother, and gives her permission/voice to continue to grow herself as a person beyond her challenging, rewarding,
and honorable role as a mom.
We
invite you—stay-at-home moms, working moms, and moms anywhere in between—to be a part of our McDowell Mountain
Ranch chapter of Mothers & More. Our chapter is comprised of mothers with children from newborn to school age, and runs
on the steam of committed member volunteers. There's something for everyone on the monthly calendar: playgroups, park days,
special outings around town, holiday parties, community outreach projects, mom's and couple's nights out, book club and other
special interest groups. ...And as the centerpiece of our chapter, we aim to have fun, relaxed, moms-only meetings
that give us a chance to think, discuss and energize in the company of fellow moms who have "been there, done that."
Every
mom can use some like-minded friends to laugh with, lean on, learn from, and talk to. This is the group to join if you're
looking for an organization that embraces a flexible, modern and ambitious take on what being a mother is all about. We hope
you'll join us!
Meetings are held the first Monday of the month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the McDowell Center
at the corner of Paradise Lane and McDowell Mountain Ranch Road. Prospective members are always welcome! (You may attend
up to two meetings before joining, at which time you may attend all other chapter activities and playgroups.)
